Call the court that holds the case. The Arlington General District Court Clerk handles adult misdemeanor and traffic files, while the Circuit Court Clerk keeps Circuit cases. The Sheriff’s Office routes service questions. For Arlington County warrant records, use an official number or address below and ask which office can confirm the specific matter. Keep the court name, case number, and notice nearby. A clerk can explain a filing step or calendar, but cannot give legal advice.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Arlington County Warrant Records is a private reference site, not a government office. It does not keep court files or run an official warrant lookup. For an active status, court date, bond, payment, or service question, contact the office that owns that part of the record.

Requests for existing Sheriff records under Virginia FOIA.

The Arlington courts directory links to the local courts and service offices. For an adult traffic or misdemeanor search, use the Virginia GDC case system and select Arlington. The Sheriff’s Civil Process/Warrants page is a service contact, not a public name-search list.

The Sheriff accepts FOIA requests by mail, fax, email, in person, or phone. A request should identify existing records with reasonable specificity; it cannot require staff to create an active-warrant list. The Sheriff’s current FOIA page lists a $30 per-hour labor rate. Requests estimated at $200 or more require a written estimate and a 50% deposit before retrieval. Ask for a cost estimate before the search begins.

Use the Sheriff FOIA page for current request rights, cost rules, and submission details. The Office of the Magistrate handles warrant issuance and bail services, but its page says warrant business is not conducted by phone.
